The Village of Trancoso

The village of Trancoso, originally named Aldeia de São João Batista dos Índios, was rediscovered in the 1970s by young intellectuals and idealists, the so-called biribandos, who left big cities in search of the dream of a life more connected to nature, with freedom and peace.

Many of them arrived and were soon enchanted by this village, at the time a fishing and farming village, which formed a welcoming and prejudice-free community. The land and the sea, the most beautiful sunset ever seen. The manual skills, the seasonal fruits, the roots and all the magic and beauty of this biome made them choose to stay here.

The Square

Thus Trancoso grew and developed around the special Quadrado, considered one of the most valuable historical sites in southern Bahia. The heart of Trancoso, with its colorful houses framing the church of São João Batista in the background.

Whether it's the magic of the sunset, the rising of the full moon behind the church, the pink sunset or the conversations with the welcoming residents, Trancoso reminds us that life can be fantastic, even if it's simple.

Almost deserted paradisiacal beaches, warm waters and white sands frame the entire Discovery Coast.

São muitas opções de praias para não se esquecer jamais.
Entre o Rio da Barra e Caraíva estão também o rio Trancoso, Itapororoca, Itaquena, Praia do Espelho e outras.
